Summer 2022 Content Update

I began working on the game in March 2022, creating art for the summer “Sunrise” update which introduced a new class, the Solarion, and a new split-level biome, the Sundered Uplands/Ashen Wastes.

Trove is built in a proprietary engine, and all of the UI is implented using Adobe Flash files.

Summer 2022 Content Update

The next update introduced a newly developed Skill Tree system for overall character progression as well as a reworked Fishing system that made use of this architecture. 

I took this opportunity to elevate the established design language. I sought to elevate the quality of the assets yet stay true to the game’s playful spirit.







New Hub Map


Prior to this map, there was no way to orient new players in the game’s central hub. As a relatively new member to the Trove team, and new player of the game myself, I pitched this map for a round of QoL updates. South is at the top as that is the direction the player is facing when they’re spawned into the Hub.
